Your Logline should jump out and grab the reader!

Ok, so what's a Logline? Why is it important? Where does it go? How do you use it? Is it part of your Query Letter? Is it included in Pitching? Simply put, it's another critical aspect of screenwriting exercises that every screenwriter must address and master.

By definition, it's a one to three sentence description of your screenplay. It gives the reader a taste of the story and leaves them hungry for more. The shorter the better. The whole idea is to make them want to read your script.

It should also be part of your Query Letter as it gives the reader a first glance at your writing style. Use it to make a first great impression. If given the opportunity, it is also a strong part of your pitch.

Remember the advertisements, trailers, you have seen on TV about movies opening in your town. Those one or two sentences they used while showing clips...bingo...Logline. It's the same for the posters or artwork on the video or dvd box.

Finally, make sure not to mislead the reader. Providing an accurate description of your screenplay can get it into the hands of a decision maker.
